Styling notes

Choose one softer texture near your face — brushed cotton, fine merino, a scarf — since that is the part of the outfit actually in view. Keep the lower half simple and well-proportioned to the top: relaxed above, narrow below, or the reverse. Avoid heavy fragrance in a small café, and avoid anything you would be nervous about spilling on. If the date runs long and moves on somewhere else, the outfit should follow without a change.
