Styling notes
Keep the palette warm and simple — cream, sand, faded blue, olive. Lisbon's light is strong and forgiving, so texture reads better than pattern: linen, fine cotton, a soft leather sandal. Choose one shoe you can climb in and wear it all week rather than packing a second pair you will resent carrying. If you plan a dinner in Príncipe Real or Chiado, the same trouser with a better shirt is enough.

Rarely worth it. The calçada cobbles are polished and steep. A refined flat, a low block heel, or a clean leather sneaker looks better and lets you walk the city as it is meant to be walked.
How warm does Lisbon get in the evening?

Warm afternoons often drop several degrees after sunset near the river. One fine knit or a light jacket covers almost every evening from spring to autumn.
Is Lisbon a formal city for dinner?
