Wear·Working from home
What to wear working from home.
Nobody is watching, which is exactly why the outfit matters.

Dressing at home is not about performing an office. It is about giving the day a shape. One softly tailored bottom, one top with a real neckline, and something on your feet is usually the whole trick — the outfit ends the morning and starts the work.
The capsule
- 1
A soft, drawstring-easy trouser
Wide, fluid, and in a colour you would wear outside.
- 2
A fine knit or clean shirt
The half of you that appears on screen. Keep it good.
- 3
One warm overlayer
A cardigan or overshirt for the cold hour before lunch.
- 4
A real shoe or a smart flat
Slippers are allowed. A shoe changes the posture.
- 5
One quiet piece of jewellery
A small signal that the day has started.
Styling notes
Think of it as two halves with one standard. The top half meets clients, so keep it in the fabrics you trust on camera — fine knit, cotton poplin, nothing that creases into a map by eleven. The bottom half is where the comfort lives: a soft wide trouser or a relaxed denim rather than the thing you slept in. Keep the palette to two calm colours so any combination works without thought, and leave one layer by the desk for the temperature drop. If the day ends with a walk or an errand, you are already dressed to leave.
Questions
Does it really matter what I wear at home?
+
It matters for the boundary more than the look. Changing into a considered outfit tells your day it has begun, and it means an unexpected call or delivery never catches you out.
How do I stay comfortable without looking sloppy?
+
Keep the comfort in the fabric and the cut, not in the standard. A wide soft trouser in a good colour reads as intentional; a worn tracksuit does not, however comfortable it is.
What works best on video calls?
+
A plain, mid-tone top with a defined neckline and no busy pattern. Add one layer with structure — a cardigan or overshirt — and the camera reads the whole thing as composed.
